Agrigento can be reached via bus or train from any town in Sicily. A bus from Catania to Agrigento cost about 12.4€ (http://www.saistrasporti.it). I did not remember how long, but it was quite a long journey (2-3 h). As there is no toilet in the bus, take care not to drink too much on the way.
Agrigento is an interesting place to enjoy the historical sites (ancient Akragas, the Valley of Temples) and they were listed as World Heritage site. The Valley of Temple is huge and spectacular, consist of several temples such as Temple of Concordia, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Temple of Hercules, and Temple of Hera. Since kid, I love to watch Roman/Greek movie about super hero like Hercules and Xena, where Zeus and Hera also played in the movies. So I was so excited to visit the Valley of Temple.
